Mall of the Emirates

Mall of the Emirates is a premier shopping mall located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, developed and owned by the Majid Al Futtaim Group. Construction began in 2003 and was completed in 2005, with the mall officially opening its doors to the public in November 2005.

Designed by the American architectural firm F+A Architects, the mall features a blend of Arabic and Mediterranean architectural elements, spread across three main levels connected to extensive parking facilities. Upon completion, Mall of the Emirates quickly became one of the region’s most iconic retail and entertainment destinations.

The mall boasts over 630 retail outlets, including 80 luxury stores and 250 flagship stores, providing a diverse shopping experience. It also features more than 100 restaurants and cafés catering to varied culinary tastes.

One of its most notable attractions is Ski Dubai, the Middle East’s first indoor ski resort and snow park, which opened alongside the mall. Family-friendly entertainment options include Magic Planet, a large indoor play area, VOX Cinemas with 20 screens, and the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre, offering a well-rounded experience beyond shopping.

Mall of the Emirates has undergone several expansion phases, including a major AED 1 billion redevelopment project called Evolution 2015, which completed in 2015 and added 36,000 square meters of retail space with new retailers, dining venues, and enhanced parking. In 2025, it announced a further AED 5 billion expansion plan aimed at adding an indoor-outdoor precinct and its first outdoor food and beverage courtyard to enhance the visitor experience.

With its central location on Sheikh Zayed Road and direct access to the Dubai Metro, Mall of the Emirates remains a focal point of Dubai’s retail and leisure scene, attracting millions of visitors annually and maintaining its reputation as one of the world’s top shopping destinations.
