Ibn Battuta Mall

Ibn Battuta Mall is a large, uniquely themed shopping mall located on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It opened on April 4, 2005, and is named after Ibn Battuta, the renowned 14th-century Moroccan explorer and scholar.

The mall is distinctive for its design inspired by the travels of Ibn Battuta, featuring six themed courts: Andalusia, Tunisia, Egypt, Persia, India, and China. Each court reflects the architecture and culture of the regions Ibn Battuta visited during his extensive journeys, including notable features such as a replica of an elephant clock in the India Court, a large hand-painted dome in the Persia Court, and pyramids in the Egypt Court.

Spread over approximately 521,000 square meters, Ibn Battuta Mall houses more than 300 retail stores offering a wide range of products from affordable to mid-range brands, including international names like Tommy Hilfiger, Forever 21, Levi's, and American Eagle Outfitters.

The mall also features around 50 dining options and entertainment facilities, which historically included a 21-screen Novo Cinemas (until its closure in 2024), a trampoline park, a bowling alley, a children's entertainment center, and a gymnasium. The mall offers substantial parking space with over 4,500 parking slots and is conveniently accessible via the nearby Ibn Battuta Metro Station on the Dubai Metro Red Line.

The mall is directly connected to two hotels: Premier Inn Dubai Ibn Battuta Hotel, which is the largest Premier Inn in the Middle East after a major renovation, and Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai Hotel.

In recent years, Ibn Battuta Mall has undergone expansions adding new retail space, shops, and modern amenities. It remains a significant retail and cultural hub in Dubai, providing a shopping experience that combines history, culture, and modern-day consumerism, celebrating the legacy and global travels of its namesake explorer.
