The Shangri-La Hotel in Dubai is a prominent skyscraper hotel tower located on Sheikh Zayed Road, one of the city's main thoroughfares. The building stands 43 floors high and has a structural height of approximately 200 meters. Construction of the Shangri-La Hotel was completed in July 2003 by the South African construction firm Murray and Roberts, now known as Concor.
This hotel marked the entry of the Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts brand into the United Arab Emirates and quickly became a landmark in Dubai. The tower contains around 300 hotel rooms and 188 residential units, offering both furnished and unfurnished accommodation options.
The building's lobby spans four stories and includes three levels dedicated to restaurants, banquet halls with wide clear spans, a business center, an executive health club on the 42nd floor, and leisure facilities on the roof. Upon completion, the Shangri-La Hotel was one of Dubai's tallest buildings, ranking as the sixth tallest at the time.
Situated conveniently near the Dubai International Financial Centre, the Dubai Mall, and the Burj Khalifa, the hotel serves as a favored destination for celebrities, diplomats, and politicians. Its strategic location allows guests easy access to key city landmarks and business districts.
The architectural design and facilities reflect a blend of luxury and functional hospitality, reinforcing its status as a significant high-rise hotel in Dubai's skyline and hospitality sector.
