Princess Tower

Princess Tower is a residential skyscraper located in the Dubai Marina district of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It stands at a height of 414 meters (1,356 feet) with 101 floors above ground and six basement levels, making it one of the tallest residential buildings in the world.

Completed in September 2012, Princess Tower was the tallest residential building globally from 2012 until 2015, when it was surpassed by 432 Park Avenue in New York City. It is currently the third tallest building in Dubai, following the Burj Khalifa and Marina 101, and ranks among the tallest buildings worldwide.

The tower was developed by Tameer Holdings Investment and designed by the architectural firm led by Eng. Adnan Saffarini, whose design incorporates postmodern style with Arabic cultural motifs, reflected in its distinctive crown-like dome that resembles mosque domes.

The structural engineering was led by Syed Majid Hashmi. Construction began in 2006 and was completed in 2012 with an estimated cost of around $210 million. The building’s structure features a reinforced concrete core with peripheral columns and aluminium curtain wall cladding, materials sourced globally including tiles from Spain and Italy, and kitchen fixtures from Italy.

Princess Tower comprises 763 luxury apartments ranging from one-bedroom units to four-bedroom apartments, duplexes, and high-end penthouses. The residential floors span from the 7th to the 94th, with the highest occupied floor being the 97th at 357 meters (1,171 feet).

The 97th floor also includes an observation deck offering panoramic views of Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah, equipped with Wi-Fi access. Amenities within the tower are extensive and include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fully equipped gymnasium, sauna, steam room, games rooms, a children's play area, and a banquet hall. It also features 957 parking bays across six underground levels.

The tower is strategically located near key landmarks such as the Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, and Madinat Jumeirah, with convenient access to shopping centers, educational institutions, business districts, and public transportation including proximity to the Dubai Metro and future tram lines.

Princess Tower has become a symbol of luxury living and architectural innovation in Dubai’s skyline, exemplifying the city's rapid urban development and its penchant for record-setting skyscrapers.

Dubai shows how tourism can be planned with purpose.
