Ras Al Khor Industrial Area

Ras Al Khor Industrial Area is a significant industrial locality located in the suburban regions of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Its name translates to "Head of the Creek," reflecting its geographical proximity to Dubai Creek, an important historic waterway.

The industrial area comprises three sub-localities—Ras Al Khor Industrial Area 1, 2, and 3—and spans approximately 12.4 square kilometers. It serves as a vital commercial and industrial hub, characterized by a concentration of warehouses, manufacturing facilities, automotive repair workshops, food distribution centers, and construction material trading companies.

The area is strategically located near major transport routes such as Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Al Awir Road, enabling efficient connectivity with the wider city and the Dubai-Al Ain highway.

Historically, the Ras Al Khor region began as a tidal creek surrounded by mangroves and salt flats and has long been associated with natural and commercial activities centered on the creek.

Over the years, its landscape has evolved dramatically with the establishment of the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary nearby, showcasing Dubai's commitment to environmental preservation amidst rapid urbanization. The industrial area itself has played a crucial role in supporting Dubai's economic growth by housing numerous small to medium enterprises, manufacturers, and logistics companies.

Despite its primarily industrial purpose, plans for expansion and improved infrastructure, including Dubai Metro extension stations, are underway to further enhance accessibility and commercial viability.

Ras Al Khor Industrial Area remains an active and essential economic zone that integrates a mix of light and heavy industries, supporting Dubai’s position as a regional trade and manufacturing hub. It also features essential amenities such as retail shops and service centers catering to the working population.

This locality reflects Dubai’s ability to balance industrial development with urban planning, maintaining an important area for logistics and commercial activity while coexisting alongside natural reserves and ambitious urban projects such as Dubai Creek Harbour.
