Muraba Veil

Muraba Veil is a striking residential skyscraper located along the Dubai Canal in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Designed by the Pritzker Prize-winning architecture firm RCR Arquitectes in collaboration with Dubai-based developer Muraba, the tower stands 380 meters tall with 73 stories and is notably slender, measuring just 22.5 meters in width.

This makes it one of the thinnest high-rises in Dubai, offering an exclusive living experience with just one apartment per floor, ranging from two to five-bedroom units—all featuring expansive terraces and panoramic views.

The architectural concept of Muraba Veil draws heavily on Middle Eastern cultural heritage and vernacular architectural traditions, particularly the Arabian courtyard house, mashrabiya latticework, and regional climatic considerations.

The building is wrapped in a semi-perforated stainless steel “veil” inspired by the mashrabiya, a traditional wooden lattice screen that provides shade, privacy, and natural ventilation while filtering light. This veil changes appearance throughout the day, reflecting the surrounding environment and optimizing solar performance, reducing energy consumption by mitigating heat gain.

Interiors are designed to emphasize privacy, tranquility, and connection with nature, featuring layouts that maximize cross ventilation and natural light.

The design also incorporates terraces, green garden spaces, and water features resembling an oasis, inspired by traditional Arabian homes but reimagined in a vertical form. Muraba Veil is celebrated for blending cutting-edge engineering with cultural sensitivity, representing a new approach to sustainable, luxury urban living in the Gulf region.

The tower also includes communal spaces such as an amphitheater, cinema, and restaurant, further establishing it as a cultural as well as residential landmark. Muraba Veil is a symbol of Dubai’s architectural innovation and respect for its cultural roots, setting a fresh standard for skyscraper design in the Middle East.
