Palm Jebel Ali

Palm Jebel Ali is an ambitious artificial island development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, designed to be the largest of the Palm Islands series and twice the size of Palm Jumeirah.

Conceived in 2002, it was originally planned as a vast residential and leisure destination featuring over 110 kilometers of beachfront, 16 fronds, and a crescent that doubles as a protective barrier and a space for luxury hotels and resorts.

The project aims to create a sustainable, family-oriented waterfront community with smart city technology integration and extensive recreational amenities. Construction was halted following the 2008 global financial crisis, causing a prolonged pause in development.

The project experienced a revival in 2023 with the approval of a futuristic new master plan directly endorsed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, signaling renewed governmental commitment and a shift toward sustainable and technologically advanced urban living.

As of 2025, active construction and infrastructure work are underway with the first villa handovers expected between late 2026 and 2027. The development is planned to feature around 2,000 beachfront mansions, surpassing the scale of Palm Jumeirah, and seeks to offer larger plots, more privacy, and a tranquil environment compared to its predecessor.

It is set to become a key part of Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan, reflecting the city’s vision for sustainable waterfront living, long-term population growth, and luxury real estate innovation.

Palm Jebel Ali is managed by Nakheel, the developer responsible for Palm Jumeirah, and aims to blend upscale residential living with extensive hospitality, retail, and leisure facilities amidst smart infrastructure and environmental considerations.
