Julphar, officially known as Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries, is a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

Established in 1980 under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the late ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, Julphar has grown over four decades to become the largest pharmaceutical manufacturer in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The company initially launched with 30 pharmaceutical products in 1984 and has since expanded its portfolio to over 3,000 products distributed in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Julphar operates 16 internationally accredited manufacturing facilities across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, producing more than half a million boxes of medicine daily, including tablets, syrups, suspensions, injectables, creams, ointments, and various pharmaceutical formulations.

Julphar’s product range covers a wide array of therapeutic segments such as diabetes, gastrointestinal health, respiratory conditions, pain management, wounds and scars, anemia, gynecology, dermatology, erectile dysfunction, and cardiology.

It is recognized as one of the largest producers of insulin globally and the only insulin manufacturer in the UAE, supported by its dedicated state-of-the-art biotechnology facility established in 2012, which produces recombinant DNA (r-DNA) insulin and insulin analogues.

The company expanded its international presence by opening manufacturing units in Ethiopia, Bangladesh, and Saudi Arabia, the latter being a joint venture with Cigalah Group and the first facility in King Abdullah Economic City to achieve full cGMP certification on its initial inspection.

Julphar has been acknowledged for its high standards in manufacturing and quality control, meeting international certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, EU GMP, and GLP, and maintaining close cooperation with regulatory bodies including the UAE Ministry of Health and the US FDA.
