Etihad Museum

The Etihad Museum in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is a prominent cultural and historical institution dedicated to documenting and celebrating the founding of the United Arab Emirates.

It officially opened on December 2, 2016, coinciding with the 45th anniversary of the UAE's formation, and welcomed visitors from January 7, 2017. The museum is located in Jumeirah, Dubai, on a 25,000 square meter site that includes the historic Union House, where the founding document of the UAE was signed by the rulers of the seven emirates in 1971.

The museum’s architecture is inspired by the shape of a manuscript, with seven columns symbolizing the pens used to sign the original declaration of the federation.

The Etihad Museum offers an immersive visitor experience through ten main pavilions arranged along a chronological timeline, focusing on the crucial period between 1968 and 1974 that led to the unification of the Emirates.

Its exhibits include multimedia presentations, interactive displays, rare archival materials, historic photographs, and personal artifacts of the founding fathers, providing a comprehensive narrative of the country's journey toward unity. The museum also educates visitors about the UAE constitution, highlighting the rights and responsibilities it grants to citizens.

Moreover, it features educational programs, a library, a conference center, and a theater to further engage audiences and promote the nation’s rich heritage.
