Emaar Properties

Emaar Properties is a Dubai-based real estate development company founded in 1997 by Mohamed Alabbar. It has grown to become one of the largest and most influential real estate developers in the United Arab Emirates and worldwide.

Initially fully owned by the Dubai government, Emaar went public in 2000, becoming the first property company in Dubai to offer shares to foreign nationals. Emaar played a pivotal role in shaping Dubai’s modern skyline through landmark projects such as Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and The Dubai Mall, which is the largest mall globally.

The company is also known for developing upscale communities including Dubai Marina and Arabian Ranches, as well as iconic attractions like the Dubai Fountain.

Emaar’s business model includes residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, and entertainment sectors, operating through multiple subsidiaries and specialized groups. With a global presence, Emaar has invested and developed properties in Africa, Asia, North America, and the Middle East.

By 2024, it had a net asset value of around USD 40 billion and reported strong revenues reflecting its ongoing expansion. The company emphasizes integrating lifestyle, design excellence, and sustainability in its developments, contributing significantly to Dubai’s position as a global city.

Mohamed Alabbar’s leadership has been instrumental in establishing Emaar as a symbol of innovation and urban transformation within the real estate industry.
