Burj Al Arab

Burj Al Arab is a luxury hotel located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, renowned for its iconic sail-shaped design. It officially opened on December 1, 1999, becoming a symbol of Dubai's rapid development and ambition.

The hotel stands on an artificial island 280 meters (920 feet) off Jumeirah Beach and is connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge. Designed by British architect Tom Wright of Atkins, the building rises to a height of 321 meters (1,053 feet), making it one of the tallest hotels in the world. Its distinctive shape, inspired by the sail of a traditional Arabian dhow, has made it one of the most photographed and recognized landmarks worldwide.

Burj Al Arab features 202 duplex suites ranging from 170 to 780 square meters, each with lavish interiors that combine traditional Arabian elements and modern luxury. Each suite is serviced by a dedicated 24-hour butler and includes extravagant amenities such as rain showers and Jacuzzis.

The hotel is known for its unparalleled service, including in-suite check-in and check-out, reception desks on every floor, and a fleet of Rolls-Royce vehicles for guest transportation. Its six world-class restaurants offer a variety of international and regional cuisines, including Al Muntaha, located 200 meters above the Persian Gulf, and Al Mahara, accessed via a simulated submarine voyage inside a massive seawater aquarium.

The hotel’s helipad, situated 210 meters above ground level, has hosted numerous high-profile events, including tennis matches and daredevil stunts. Often described as the world’s only "seven-star" hotel, a term coined by the media rather than the hotel itself, Burj Al Arab has redefined luxury hospitality and continues to attract an elite clientele worldwide.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2024, the hotel remains a flagship property for the Jumeirah Group and a symbol of Dubai’s status as a global luxury travel destination.
