Atlantis The Palm

Atlantis, The Palm is a luxury hotel resort situated at the apex of the iconic man-made island, Palm Jumeirah, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It opened on September 24, 2008, as the first resort to be established on the Palm Jumeirah.

The resort is themed on the mythical Atlantis, blending a nautical fantasy with distinct Arabian architectural elements, including sun-kissed spires, Moorish archways, and palm-shaped pillars. Designed as a flagship of opulence, the hotel features two accommodation wings—the East and West Towers—connected by the expansive Royal Bridge Suite.

It encompasses 1,544 rooms and suites, many with private balconies and panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf or Palm Island itself.

The resort is renowned not only for its accommodations but also for its vast entertainment and leisure offerings. Atlantis houses Aquaventure Waterpark, the largest waterpark in the Middle East, featuring thrilling water slides, rapids, and wave pools.

The Lost Chambers Aquarium, holding over 65,000 marine animals across 250 species, provides immersive underwater experiences reminiscent of the lost city of Atlantis. The resort also offers a unique collection of 35 internationally acclaimed restaurants and bars, including celebrity chef-led establishments such as Nobu, Hakkasan, and Bread Street Kitchen & Bar by Gordon Ramsay.

Among its distinctive features are the Poseidon and Neptune Underwater Suites, which include submerged bedrooms with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Ambassador Lagoon, allowing guests to observe marine life from their rooms.

Atlantis, The Palm was developed through a partnership between Kerzner International Holdings Limited and Istithmar World, with management by Kerzner International Resorts. The architect firm Wimberly, Allison, Tong and Goo collaborated on the design, while construction was carried out by the British firm Laing O'Rourke.

The resort spans 114 acres, including a 60-acre water theme park, and incorporates elements celebrating Arabian grandeur and mythical lore. Its grand opening featured an extravagant fireworks display that reportedly cost around $20 million, reflecting its status as a landmark of luxury tourism in Dubai.
