Aramex is a multinational logistics, courier, and package delivery company headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was founded in 1982 by Fadi Ghandour and Bill Kingson in Amman, Jordan, originally named Arab American Express.

The company was established to address the unique logistical challenges in the Middle East, where global courier companies were scarce due to political and bureaucratic complexities. Aramex offered its first international delivery sending documents from Jordan to New York City.

By 1985, it had relocated its headquarters to Dubai, aiming to expand its regional presence.

Aramex is notable for being the first Arab-based company to list on the NASDAQ stock exchange in 1997, marking a significant milestone for Middle Eastern businesses in the global market. Following a period of private ownership starting in 2002 facilitated by Abraaj Capital, Aramex went public again in 2005 on the Dubai Financial Market.

The company has experienced extensive growth, now operating in over 70 countries with a workforce exceeding 16,000 employees. Its global network serves a diverse client base with integrated logistics solutions, including express courier services, freight forwarding, e-commerce logistics, and supply chain management.

Aramex chairs the Global Distribution Alliance, a worldwide network of express delivery firms, and is recognized for its pioneering approach in combining express delivery, freight services, and information management under one umbrella.
