The Sevens

The Sevens Stadium in Dubai is a versatile, purpose-built sports and entertainment complex located at the intersection of Dubai-Al Ain Road (E66) and Jebel Ali-Lahbab Road (E77).

Opened in 2008, it primarily serves as a hub for rugby sevens but caters to a wide array of sports including association football, Gaelic football, Australian rules football, netball, basketball, cricket, tennis, track and field, baseball, and various other activities.

The stadium complex is renowned for hosting the Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens, a prominent annual event on the World Rugby Sevens Series calendar, which has been held there since 2008.

The facility includes eight rugby and football pitches, six cricket pitches—three of which are grass with two floodlit, and three subkha pitches—along with four netball and tennis courts and a basketball court. All playing surfaces and courts are floodlit, supporting night matches and training.

The main show pitch measures 130 by 80 meters and features a permanent spectator stand with a seating capacity of 4,000 plus space for an additional 37,500 in temporary grandstands. The complex also offers various ancillary facilities such as international standard changing rooms, media chalets, physio rooms, anti-doping rooms, and prayer rooms.

The Sevens Stadium provides on-site parking for approximately 15,000 vehicles and hosts numerous sports leagues, training programs, and community events. Beyond sports, it serves as a venue for concerts, exhibitions, and other large-scale entertainment events, regularly featuring international artists and attracting diverse audiences.

The stadium’s comprehensive amenities, including a banquet hall, meeting rooms, and food and beverage outlets, complement its sporting infrastructure, making it one of the premier multi-purpose sports and event venues in the Middle East.

The venue holds a significant place in Dubai's sporting landscape, bridging grassroots participation and international competition with a vibrant calendar of events year-round.
