Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government

The Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG), originally established in 2005 as the Dubai School of Government, is a premier research and teaching institution focused on public policy and governance in the Arab world.

It was founded under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. The school was created with the vision of enhancing government performance by strengthening public administration and policymaking capacities across the region.

It serves as the first academic institution in the Arab world dedicated exclusively to the study and advancement of public policy, governance, and leadership.

MBRSG offers a variety of academic and professional programs designed to equip current and future leaders with the skills needed to address public sector challenges. Its flagship Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, which graduated its first cohort in 2009, was initially developed in coordination with the Harvard Kennedy School, although the formal affiliation ended in 2011.

The school also provides executive education and custom training programs in partnership with globally recognized institutions such as Harvard Kennedy School and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. Academic programs at MBRSG are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education.

Apart from education, MBRSG plays a significant role in policy research, knowledge dissemination, and hosting regional and international conferences and forums that facilitate dialogue between Middle Eastern and global governance experts. The school’s initiatives aim to promote good governance practices, public sector innovation, and leadership development throughout the Arab world.

Over the years, MBRSG has expanded its influence by collaborating with governments and organizations throughout the region, continuously evolving as a hub for advancing excellence in public administration and policy development.
