Dubai Butterfly Garden is a unique indoor garden located in the Al Barsha 3 area of Dubailand, Dubai, adjacent to the Dubai Miracle Garden. Opened in 2015, it is recognized as the world’s largest indoor butterfly garden and the first of its kind in the region.
The garden spans over 6,673 square meters and features ten custom-built climate-controlled domes, each maintained at a constant temperature of around 24 degrees Celsius to create the ideal environment for butterflies to thrive. It houses over 15,000 butterflies from more than 50 different species, offering visitors an immersive experience among a dazzling array of colorful winged creatures.
The garden is designed to replicate various ecological zones, with lush vegetation, vibrant flowers, and naturalistic settings that allow butterflies to fly freely and engage closely with visitors. Among its attractions are a butterfly museum showcasing intricate artworks made from pressed butterflies, a Koi pond with brightly colored fish, and an educational area that details the life cycle and metamorphosis of butterflies.
Visitors can observe the butterflies’ feeding habits and learn about different species, including the Monarch and Blue Morpho butterflies. Additional amenities include a children’s cinema that features educational films and a gift shop offering nature-themed souvenirs.
Dubai Butterfly Garden is easily accessible from major roads such as Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Al Khail Road, and is reachable by public transport with direct bus services from the Mall of the Emirates metro station.
It remains open year-round, providing an educational and tranquil retreat for families, nature enthusiasts, and tourists seeking to connect with nature in the heart of the city’s desert environment. The garden combines leisure, learning, and natural beauty, further enhancing Dubai’s reputation as a destination for innovative and family-friendly attractions.
A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.
